Parash 23 P’Kudei (accountings of) Sh’mot/Exodus 38:21 –40:38
Synopsis – Moses makes an accounting of the gold, silver and copper donated by the people for the making of the Mishkan. Betzalel, Ahaliav and their assistants make the Eight Priestly Garments -- the Apron, Breastplate, Cloak, Crown, Hat, Tunic, Sash and Breeches -- according to the specifications communicated to Moses in the Parshah of Tetzaveh.
The Mishkan is completed and all its components are brought to Moshe, who erects it and anoints it with the holy Anointing Oil, and initiates Aaron and his four sons into the priesthood. A cloud appears over the Mishkan, signifying the Divine Presence that has come to dwell within it.
Theme & Message – The main focus of this portion of torah is stewardship. The Lord seeks servants who understand their responsibility over those things that the Lord gives to them. The Lord requires that His servants follow His commandments without deviation and without cutting corners. When a servant has completed all that the Lord commanded, there is a great release of power from Heaven as the Lord’s presence is revealed in the midst of the servant’s life. There is great blessing that pours forth from that life into the family and into the community of God.

TORAH LESSON – This Torah portion begins with a complete and exact accounting of the offerings prescribed and given by each member of the tribes of Israel toward the building of the tabernacle. No tribe or any member of the community was overlooked. All of the prescribed offerings were measured and given with accuracy.
The text then goes on to delineate each of the directives given by God to Moshe. The scriptures tell us in great detail every step that each of the craftsmen used to build the tabernacle. All of the required materials are repeated and each of the priestly garments and furnishings are repeated.
At the end of chapter 39, scripture tells us that Moshe saw that the workers had completed the work as the Lord had commanded and then he blessed them. Then the Lord gives two directives. The first is that the tabernacle is to be raised up on the first day of the first month, Nisan. This is the beginning of the structure of the calendar of God. He established this as the beginning of the year for all of Israel. The Lord used this magnificent structure to represent a new beginning for the Israelites and for the world. The Lord would once again establish a relationship with the people of the earth. He would once again visit with the people of the earth and dwell with them. But His visits would need to be on His terms and in His time
The second directive was that the tabernacle and its furnishings were to be anointed and set apart as holy unto the Lord. The Lord’s holiness would be a constant reality in this sanctuary. Those who served in this place needed to be separated unto Him alone. Nothing contaminated by sin would ever pass through the veils from the outside. Only that which had been cleansed, purified and anointed could be in the presence of the Lord.
Scripture tells us that it was Moshe, himself who completed the work of the tabernacle as the last of the curtains of the courtyard were hung. At that time, the cloud of the Lord covered the tent and the glory of the Lord filled the tent. Moshe could no longer enter the tent once the glory had filled it. When the cloud rested on the tent, they would remain. When it lifted from the tent, the Israelites would move. The cloud appeared by day. The pillar of fire appeared over the tent at night. This passage closes with the reminder that it was this cloud that would guide the Israelites in all their journeys.
Chapters
Sh’mot/ Exodus 38
This chapter is a continuation of the account of the making of the things belonging to the tabernacle, particularly the altar of burnt offering, Exo_38:1 the laver of brass, and the things it was made of, Exo_38:8 the court and its hangings, pillars, sockets, hooks and pins, Exo_38:9 then follows an account of the quantities of gold, silver, and brass, expended in the making of the several things appertaining to the sanctuary, Exo_38:21.
In this chapter the lord tells us of how 1775 were brought for the Mishcah (Tabernacle) here is a picture from a coin found March 2008
An ancient seal bearing an archaic Hebrew inscription dating back to the 8th century BCE has been uncovered in an archeological excavation in Jerusalem's City of David, the Israel Antiquities Authority announced Thursday.
The seal
excavated in the City of David bears the name of a public official from the 8th
century BCE.

The find reveals that by 2,700 years ago, clerks and merchants had already begun to add their names to the seals instead of the symbols that were used in earlier centuries.
Sh’mot/ Exodus 39
In this chapter is continued the account of making the several things belonging to the sanctuary, particularly the clothes for the service of the tabernacle, and the garments of the priests, as the ephod and its curious girdle, Exo_39:1 the breastplate and the putting of the stones in it, and the fastening of it to the ephod, Exo_39:8 the robe of the ephod, with the bells and pomegranates to it, Exo_39:21 and the coats, mitre, bonnets, breeches, and girdle of fine linen, for Aaron and his sons, Exo_39:27 and the golden plate, Exo_39:30 and all being finished, the tabernacle and everything belonging to it were brought to Moses, and viewed by him; who seeing that all was done exactly according to the commandment of the Lord, blessed the people, and particularly the artificers, Exo_39:38.
Sh’mot/ Exodus 40
This chapter contains the order for setting up the tabernacle, and placing the furniture of it where it was the will of God it should be put, Exo_40:1 and for the anointing it, and all its vessels, and also Aaron and his sons, Exo_40:9 all which were accordingly done, the tabernacle was reared up, and everything was put in its proper place, Exo_40:16 upon which a cloud covered the tent, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle, so that Moses could not enter; which cloud afterwards was a direction in their journeys, by night and by day, Exo_40:34.
In this chapter the Lord speaks of when the year is to begin 40:1. the enemy of God hasatan is always trying to turn our focus to anything but the Lord. This is evident in the world celebrating new year with there pagan god janus. It is amazing how the world follows a two-faced god.
NAME:
Janus, Ianus, Janus Geminus, Janus Bifrons, Janus Quadrifrons
SYMBOLS: Doors, archways, gates. bunch of keys. sunrise, sunset, the numbers 300
& 65.
USUAL IMAGE: A man's profile with two faces facing in opposite directions, the
faces do not look exactly alike, and in early versions one is bearded while the
other is clean shaven.
HOLY BOOKS: Aeneid by Virgil
HOLY DAYS:The Month of January, January 1st, Jan. 9th, Agonalia to Janus, at
whitch time a ram was sacrified to Janus. March 30th
PLACE OF WORSHIP: Temple, often one that is a symmetrical square with four
doors, one for each direction, and three windows each side, one for each month.
RELATIVES: Ouranos (father), Apollo and unnamed human woman (father & mother) in
other traditions, Juturna Goddess of wells & springs (wife), Fontus or Fons `god
of wells´ (son.) Jana Goddess of the Moon (wife) in the Janarra Tradition of La
Vecchia Religione revival of the 14th century, the Hours (children in another
myth)
SYNODEITIES: Bhairava `terrible' Ksetrapala (Hindu), Kushi-Dama-Nigi-Haya-Hi
`soft fast sun' (Shinto), Patadharini `bearing a cloth' Buddhist.
DETAILS: Janus the Roman god of sunrise, sunset, doorways, change, beginnings,
and the boundary between such things as the past & future, civilization &
barbarism, youth & adulthood, war & peace, was one of the few Roman gods not to
have a Greek counterpart.
A very old god, his story has changed many times over the years. In different
eras he was described as a human who founded a great town and invented money and
was awarded the status of being a god, to being the son of Apollo with a human
woman in one myth, while in another he said to have been created directly by
Father Sky Ouranos as a gift for Hecate. (it didn't work out between them.)
While his worship died out around the 5th century, he made a return the the 14th
century in La Vecchia Religione, an attempted revival of Italy's Pagan past,
only this time his wife from the old days, Juturna the Goddess of springs was
replaced by Jana, a moon Goddess.
His appearance has also varied greatly from one time and place to another.
Always with two faces he is somethings only an immobile head that must be cared
for by his children the Hours, to a fully formed man, holding a staff and set of
keys who just happens to look in two different realms at the same time.
Of note is the fact that while he is one man with two faces, it's not a given
that those faces look alike.
Sometime shown clean shaven, sometimes with a bead, sometimes one each, whatever
the case the faces bearded or not seldom are twins.
As the god who watched the boarder between war and peace his temple doors were
kept open during war and only shut in times of peace, which throughout most of
Roman history, no matter the prevailing beliefs about his origins or form, his
were the most open temples of all.
He raised up the court around the tent and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moshe finished the work. Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tent. Exodus 40:33-34
BRIT HADASHA/New Testament LESSON – It is a great honor and privilege to serve the King of kings (John 12:26). Anyone laboring on behalf of His kingdom is humbled and blessed. The Lord loves these servants and helps these servants, but He holds them more accountable than those on the outside (2Tim 2:15). These servants must work on building their skills and their ministry from the inside out. They must focus on the central area of ministry first, which is their heart. The work in the community follows and then spreading the ministry to the world will follow (Luke 24:47-48). In each step new skills are learned. New gifts and talents are revealed. New strength is gained through each challenge until the laborer is equipped and prepared to face the battles out in the rest of the world (Rom 5:3-4).
It is the one who receives the vision who is given authority over the work, but they are also responsible for the completion of the work (2Co 13:10). These people are given the responsibility over seeing that the work adheres completely to the vision and does not deviate to the left or to the right. The man who is given the vision determines when the task has been completed. It is he who gives the final blessing over the work and the laborers.
All work for the Lord’s kingdom must be done according to His ways. The work must always be done in His time(2Cor 6:2) on His schedule (Mat 24:36)(Rev 12:10). Any work done out of order or ahead of schedule cannot be blessed. Just as David prepared many of the furnishings and instruments of the temple, the temple could not be built in his time nor by his hands because the Lord had set apart Solomon to do the work (1Ch 28:11-12). The tabernacle initiated a new beginning of God’s contact with man. He once again establishes a way to dwell among us. He desires to be near to us and to teach. The culmination of this came when Yeshua left His throne and came to dwell among us as a man. The completion of this will be when He establishes His kingdom on earth and we dwell with Him forever.
The power of the Lord’s holiness is difficult for us to understand (Ezekiel 39:7) (Luke 1:49) (Rev 12:10, 15:4). Anything contaminated by the sin that dwells in the world cannot co-exist with God. Anything or anyone contaminated by sin is simply destroyed immediately when exposed to God’s holiness (Lev 16:2). Anyone or anything that is to draw near to God must be purified by the blood and the fire (1Peter 1:7). There is no such thing as part time holiness. There can never be a dual use or existence for anyone or anything to have part in the world and part in the sanctuary of God. This will lead to destruction.
Once a person seeks the shelter of the Lord, the person is filled by the ruach hakodesh (Acts 9:17). From that moment on, the Lord will dwell with that person (John 14:17). He will teach that person (Acts 9:31) (John14: 26). He will bless that person. He will lead that person. He will never leave that person nor will he forsake that person (John 14:16). This is an absolute certain promise from the Lord (John 15:26).
Yeshua came to dwell with us, to teach us, to show us the way by leading us (1Pet 2:21). He followed the prescribed procedures written by His father (Mat 7:21) in heaven to become our high priest and to become our perfect sacrifice. He covered us and purified us by His blood so that we would become holy unto the Lord (John 10:15-18). Because of His loving actions, He now can dwell within us and be near to us every day (John 15:10). This was the vision of God from the very beginning. Since it was His vision, it became His responsibility to oversee the work until its completion (Mat 28:18)(John 5:17). So, he who began a great work in us is sure to complete it (Phi 1:6). Now, those of us living in the end of days are privileged to be able to watch as our Lord finishes the enclosure of the outer courtyard and fills it with the peoples of every nation. As He draws every tribe and tongue near to Himself and prepares the closure of the outer veil, we will know that the time of Gentiles has been closed and we await His impending return (Luke 21:24). Yeshua will supervise His skilled laborers to complete the great work of saving the world and then He will bless them forever into eternity (Mat 28:20)(Acts1:9).
TODAY’S TEMPLE – Mattiyahu/Matthew 28, Acts 9 The servants and priests of God today will be accountable for the gift of salvation being delivered to all people. The gift must be delivered exactly and truthfully as taught by Yeshua and the Talmidim. As we are living in the end of days, we know that now is the time of salvation. We know that this is the appointed time for each of us to diligently minister to the world as it is perishing in growing darkness. Just as the Lord had anointed the workers to build the tabernacle, we are the workers anointed by God to prepare a place for the Lord to return and to dwell among us. In order to accomplish this task we must first set ourselves apart from the contamination of sin in the world. We must seek the holiness and covering of God. In that covered, quiet, holy place, the Lord will fill us with His Ruach HaKodesh so that we can have the strength, skill and power to overcome the obstacles the enemy sets before us.
As today’s Talmidim/disciples of Yeshua/Jesus we must recognize that we are the laborers who are to prepare the world for the time when Yeshua returns to dwell with us on the earth. These preparations must be done with exact detail and skill. The Lord will hold his servants accountable for any unfinished work or incorrect work. He has sent us exact instructions in His Word and He has sent us help from the Ruach. We cannot rest until all of the nations have been told of His great love and salvation
He who has begun a great work in us will be certain to complete it. (Phi 1:6)
The work of the body of Messiah will not be complete until Yeshua’s return.
Use all of your gifts, strengths and talents to build Yeshua’s kingdom on earth.
Remember to be a good steward of every blessing and gift that the Lord has given you.
The Lord says “Be holy for I am Holy” (1Pet 1:16)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind and strength. (Mar 12:30)
In all things serve the Lord with only the very best of your efforts at all times and in all situations.
Yeshua dwells within our hearts guiding us, covering us, comforting us until the end of the age. We will never be alone. (Heb 13:5)
The Lord sets the time and schedule for all things (Mat 24:36). He has an appointed time for every event in our lives and for every work we are to accomplish for His kingdom. We must always wait on Him if we are to be victorious and if we are to live in shalom.
Now is the day of salvation (2Cor 6:2)
GARMENTS
Joh 13:1 It was just before the festival of Pesach, and Yeshua knew that the time had come for him to pass from this world to the Father. Having loved his own people in the world, he loved them to the end.
Joh 13:2 They were at supper, and the Adversary had already put the desire to betray him into the heart of Y'hudah Ben-Shim`on from K'riot.
Joh 13:3 Yeshua was aware that the Father had put everything in his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God.
Joh 13:4 So he rose from the table, removed his outer garments and wrapped a towel around his waist.
Joh 13:5 Then he poured some water into a basin and began to wash the feet of the talmidim and wipe them off with the towel wrapped around him.
Why did the Messiah take off theses outer garments? By stripping off theses outer things you are left stripped before men. The talmidim by being washed were able to enter into there new roles as Cohen for the Lord.
Gal 3:21 Does this mean that the legal part of the Torah stands in opposition to God's promises? Heaven forbid! For if the legal part of the Torah which God gave had had in itself the power to give life, then righteousness really would have come by legalistically following such a Torah.
Gal 3:22 But instead, the Tanakh shuts up everything under sin; so that what had been promised might be given, on the basis of Yeshua the Messiah's trusting faithfulness, to those who continue to be trustingly faithful.
Gal 3:23 Now before the time for this trusting faithfulness came, we were imprisoned in subjection to the system which results from perverting the Torah into legalism, kept under guard until this yet-to-come trusting faithfulness would be revealed.
Gal 3:24 Accordingly, the Torah functioned as a custodian until the Messiah came, so that we might be declared righteous on the ground of trusting and being faithful.
Gal 3:25 But now that the time for this trusting faithfulness has come, we are no longer under a custodian.
Gal 3:26 For in union with the Messiah, you are all children of God through this trusting faithfulness;
Gal 3:27 because as many of you as were immersed into the Messiah have clothed yourselves with the Messiah, in whom
Gal 3:28 there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor freeman, neither male nor female; for in union with the Messiah Yeshua, you are all one.
Gal 3:29 Also, if you belong to the Messiah, you are seed of Avraham and heirs according to the promise.
We must first ask who was the custodian? The tribe of Levi and the tribe of Aharon were the custodians of the tabernacle and the priest of the temple. Now when Messiah gave His life for us he has granted all those who wish to have the job access to become Cohen to the most high God. But we still have to shed the outside world for the perfect will of the Master.
The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power. No one was able to enter into the temple, until the seven plagues of the seven angels would be finished. Revelation 15:8
