264 What is my job
Rom. 12:1 Therefore I urge you, Brethren, by the mercies of God. To present your
bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual
service of worship.
Rom. 12:2 In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards of
the ‘olam hazeh (this age, this world). Instead, keep letting
yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know
what God wants and will agree that what he wants is hood, satisfying and able to
succeed.
What is worship? A lot of people through that word around
but do we actually know what it means? The word in Greek used here is latreia
according to the Thayer dictionary this word means:
1. Service rendered for hire. Any service or ministration: the service of God
2. The service and worship of God according to the requirements of the Levitical
law
3. To perform sacred services
Our whole lives need, in this end-of-days, to be wrapped around that
service to Adonai. Today Adonai wants all of us here and online to think to
ourselves. What is my job? Not in this world but for eternity. What am I
supposed to be doing for His Kingdom today? Ask yourself how do I fit into
Adonai’s plan? What is my role? Then when I am led in a role, what is the
strategy to fulfilling that role? Am I a teacher, preacher, prayer warrior, or
news proclaimer? This is what true worship is in Hebrew, which word is ovodah.
In Hebrew the word Worship and work are the same word. Just like the word Sha’ul,
Paul the emissary used. Can I look to those in the Scriptures to understand my
role here in Adonai’s eternal plan? Finally and the most important question,
does my understanding line up with Adonai’s word?
